Shoveling Snow

SUMMIT CAMP, GREENLAND– The start of our research involves digging, and lots of it. Two large snow pits have to be dug out for sampling and for lab space (we have to keep the snow we’re working on really cold!). Luckily we had some great weather, and a whole crew of motivated diggers.

  1. Oh, you guys are making one of those backlit snowpits. I wonder if that’s the one that I visited riding the electric snowmobile. Just for fun, I’m going to make a backlit snowpit at the Niwot Ridge site. Woot!
