Soon it will be too cold for planes to fly in and out of here, so we will be heading back to the States while a hardy group of winter-overs stay for the long months of cold and dark. In the meantime, if you want an up-to-date account of current South Pole temperatures, you can check out NOAA’s weather website, which updates the current conditions hourly.
